The United Group of Companies, Inc. (United Group), a commercial real estate company based in Troy, NY significantly increased their management portfolio in 2017 and is anticipating even more growth in the coming year.
2017 began with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) 55+ Industry Council’s award ceremony in Orlando, FL, where the United Group earned nationwide recognition by receiving the Silver Achievement Award for “Best 55+ Direct Mail Piece or Campaign.” They were also honored as a Times Union Top Workplace in the Capital Region by Workplace Dynamics.

The $24 million, three story, 147,610 square foot student housing community hosted a grand opening in May. College Suites at Hudson Valley, situated within walking distance to Hudson Valley Community College, can house 268 students in 72 fully furnished apartment suites and features: a fitness center, yoga room, laundry facility, digital computer studio, bike storage, study and lounge areas, and on-site management offices..
The sprawling $29.6 million multi-family community opened in August with an official ribbon cutting and consists of 21 residential buildings with 156 apartments and townhomes ranging from 1,140 to 1,840 square feet. The community, located in Utica, also features a state-of-the-art clubhouse with a fitness center, great room, and an outdoor swimming pool.
This premier independent senior living community, located in Bonita Springs, FL, has 160 one- and two-bedroom apartments with state-of-the-art amenities, a private screened in lanai, personal washer and dryers, and covered parking spots. There is also a 12,000 square foot clubhouse with a state-of-the-art kitchen, dining area, and pub. Other unique features include: a fenced dog park, putting green, modern fitness center, deluxe hair salon, a heated community pool and spa, and a bocce court.
United Group also increased their employee base as the corporate office in the Capital Region added nearly a dozen new positions in various departments including management, sales, and human resources.
The New Year will remain productive for United Group as the development team continues their work on three independent senior living communities and a multi-family community in Florida. These communities will break ground in the coming months.
