Casselberry, FL – The Terracotta Terrace ownership was joined by city officials, development partners, Seminole County Chamber members and more Wednesday to celebrate the start of construction for Terracotta Terrace, a premier 55+ Active Adult Community to rise on N State Road in Casselberry, Florida. Terracotta Terrace represents an exciting new market-rate housing option for adults seeking Class A, community-focused, and maintenance-free living.
Representatives from the community’s ownership group, Troy, New York-based Real Estate Development Company The United Group of Companies, Inc. (United Group), city officials including Casselberry Mayor David Henson and Vice Mayor Anthony Aramendia, and business community representatives from the Seminole County Chamber of Commerce were all in attendance for the day’s festivities.
“This is going to fill a niche market. It will be sold out,” Casselberry Mayor David Henson said. “People like myself that are aging up, they want to kind of simplify their lives. This is perfect for them, and it is just such a great project.”
The event, which kicked off at 2 p.m. Wednesday, allowed county residents and community stakeholders to learn more about the soon-to-be constructed 152-unit community.
“To be able to get a development deal closed and financed in today’s very difficult credit and chaotic geopolitical markets is a feat. So, to be here today, to be well under construction, and to know that we will be opening this community in the Fall of 2027 is very exciting,” Michael Uccellini, President & CEO of United Group said.
Terracotta Terrace will feature spacious one-, two-, and penthouse units in a 5-story wood-framed building. All units will consist of open-floor plans, nine-foot ceilings, full-sized kitchens and closets, large balconies, in-unit washer and dryer, luxury finishes and more. The Mediterranean-inspired architecture will also feature an interior landscaped central courtyard to be the focal point of the community. The courtyard will feature a pool, lounges, cabanas, fire pits, outdoor kitchen/ bar, bocce court, shuffleboard, and a dog park. Inside the building there will be an additional 12,000 SF of amenities including a great room, café/ bar, theater, fitness center, yoga studio, and wellness center. (Full list of amenities below).
“On behalf of the more than 800 businesses that I represent, thank you for choosing Seminole County. Casselberry is amazing,” Rebekah Arthur, President and CEO of the Seminole County Chamber of Commerce said. “This is going to be an amazing asset, and I look forward to the ribbon cutting.”
The 55+ community is conveniently located within a 15-mile radius of US highway 17-92, SR 436, Interstate-4, Central Florida Greenway, the Orlando International Airport, and major shopping, dining, entertainment, and hospital services including Publix Super Market, Whole Foods, Winter Park Village, Regal Cinemas, the Medical Village of Winter Park, and more.
“There will 400 workers at any given time working on this project. And to add that economic value not only to the city of Casselberry, but also the construction industry, is really a good thing,” Jeff Forest, CEO of Winter Park Construction said. “So, thank you for letting us be a part of the team we really appreciate it.”
The groundbreaking ceremony was highlighted by speeches from the Terracotta Terrace owner, Michael J. Uccellini, Casselberry Mayor David Henson, United Group’s Vice President of Development Tim Haskins, Seminole County Chamber of Commerce’s President/CEO Rebekah Arthur, and Jeff Forrest, CEO of Winter Park Construction.
Terracotta Terrace is projected to be completed by Quarter 4 of 2027 and will be developed with the help of Winter Park Construction, and Forum Architecture & Interior Design.
“February of 2013 was the first email about this project with Forum Architecture, so it’s been not quite three years from concept to groundbreaking, which in today’s environment is pretty darn good,” Tim Haskins, United Group’s Vice President of Development said.
