Since our founding, we have believed that our work is first and foremost about community. So we complement our real estate development and management with volunteer efforts to foster community:

  • Many of our employees donate their time and sweat equity to building affordable homes as part of Habitat for Humanity.
  • Each February, United employees “Go Red for Women,” a campaign initiative of the American Heart Association.
  • Each October, we support “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” a campaign initiative of the American Cancer Society.
  • During the holidays, we participate in food and clothing drives, as well as the “Stuff a Stocking” event (care packages for troops overseas) and programs that provide toys, clothing, and support for less privileged children like the Salvation Army’s Adopt-a-Family and Angel Tree programs.
  • We also surprise our residents with such treats as cookie bags for our seniors during the holidays.
