United Group Celebrates Groundbreaking of Diamond Oaks Village, Grand Opening of Sandalwood Village, and NAHB 55+ Awards

December 23, 2015

Troy, NY – The United Group of Companies, Inc. celebrated three momentous events this past November – the groundbreaking of Diamond Oaks Village, the grand opening of Sandalwood Village and United Group being named a finalist for two national housing awards. Diamond Oaks Village and Sandalwood Village are both independent senior living communities for active adults 55 and older located in Bonita Springs, FL and Naples, FL, respectively.

Located at 24080 South Tamiami Trail, Diamond Oaks Village will be anchored where a local landmark once stood. Elected officials and members of surrounding communities were present for the groundbreaking held on November 13. Mayor Ben Nelson and Deputy Mayor Stephen McIntosh said a few words welcoming Diamond Oaks Village to the neighborhood. Dozens of media outlets came to cover the day’s events.

Diamond Oaks Village is a 163-unit development, rich with apartment and community amenities. The neighborhood will be comprised of two residential buildings built over covered parking and a 12,000 square foot luxurious clubhouse. Diamond Oaks Village will offer a variety of 1- and 2-bedroom apartments in addition to a deluxe penthouse level. The apartments will include state-of-the-art appliances, a private washer and dryer, and a balcony. The community will feature a fenced dog park, putting green, modern fitness center, a relaxing outdoor pool and spa, hair salon, solarium with bistro bar, and more.

Diamond Oaks Village is a finalist for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Best 55+ awards. The NAHB awards are the industry’s only national awards program that recognizes companies for superior building, design, marketing efforts, and lifestyle programs. Diamond Oaks Village impressed the judges and is a finalist in the “Best 55+ Clubhouse on the Boards” category. United Group will be named a gold or silver award winner at the NAHB International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas in January.

Sandalwood Village held their grand opening ceremony on November 12. After a few warm speeches, The Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce conducted a ribbon cutting, followed by live entertainment and refreshments. Sandalwood Village is actively leasing and is consistently receiving heavy interest.

Similar to Diamond Oaks Village, Sandalwood Village is comprised of two residential buildings and a clubhouse. Each apartment includes a fully-applianced kitchen, vinyl plank floors, a private washer and dryer and covered porch. The clubhouse features an on-site restaurant and bar, outdoor gated pool and spa, media room, game room, hair salon, and more.

Sandalwood Village and Diamond Oaks Village both feature the unique SUN® (Senior Umbrella Network) Program. The SUN Program is United Group’s signature seven-prong model that provides residents and array of services and activities designed to foster and support independent living and to enhance the active-senior lifestyle. The SUN Program is a finalist in the “Best 55+ Lifestyle Program” category of the NAHB 55+ awards and will also be awarded the gold or silver title at the International Builders’ Show. The SUN Program is implemented into all of United Group’s independent senior housing communities.
