Questions:
1.) What about United Group keeps you coming back year after year?
The support I get with items like our operating system, resident issues, employee concerns, and site operations. It really makes a huge difference. I appreciate it—it significantly contributes to my overall success. The employees no matter what their position is within the company, they’re there for me.
2.) What memories have you cherished the most out of your 15 years with United Group?
I have worked at every Parkstead Property and held many different roles over my tenure. My favorite position that I held was as a Resident Coordinator. I enjoyed collaborating with residents and the property manager to address various issues, including past-due balances, noise complaints, and housekeeping concerns. I assisted the manager in areas that saved her time and was able to obtain a resolution that was agreeable to both parties. I wish we still had that position.=
3.) In what ways have you seen the company grow and evolve?
Well, we’ve definitely grown! When I first started in 2008, we had a desktop computer, and residents had to bring their payments to the office. Now look at us, laptops, iPad, and resident portals, we’ve streamlined our operations immensely. Departments collaborate to bring success to the site level.
4.) What advice would you give your first day of work self after working for United Group for the past 15 years?
Take a moment to breathe and exhale. This marks the beginning of my journey. Following today, I’ll become an important member of a large and supportive community.
5.) What advice do you have for newer UGOC employees?
Don't hesitate to ask for help. Everyone, regardless of their department, wants to see you succeed. Some days can be more challenging than others, so don't be afraid to share if you're feeling overwhelmed. We all experience tough days, and discussing your feelings can be beneficial. Lean on others for their experiences and advice; they can offer valuable insights.
