UGOC Spotlight: United Group Breaks Ground on Active Adult Community in Worcester, MA

Worcester, MA – The United Group of Companies, Inc. held a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday to celebrate the start of construction for The Arbella at Bramble Hill (“The Arbella”), a new 55+ Active Adult community in Worcester, MA. The Arbella at Bramble Hill represents an exciting new market-rate housing option for adults seeking Class A, community-focused, and maintenance-free living. The event, which kicked off at 11 a.m. Wednesday, allowed county residents and community stakeholders to learn more about the soon-to-be-constructed 123-unit community.

“Being able to get a project of this magnitude done in this economic climate is pretty amazing,” United Group’s President and CEO Michael J. Uccellini said. “We are very excited about delivering on all of this, and we look forward to doing more in the city."

The groundbreaking ceremony was highlighted by speeches from The Arbella owner, Michael J. Uccellini, Worcester Mayor Jospeh Petty, United Group’s Chief Development Officer Jeff Smetana, and Caitlin Lubelczyk from the Worcester Chamber of Commerce.

The Arbella at Bramble Hill will span 17 acres along Salisbury Street on Worcester’s West Side and feature spacious one- and two-bedroom apartment units across its three elevator-serviced buildings. The 8,500 square feet clubhouse will serve as the center point of the community boasting a yoga studio, an indoor pool and sauna, a multimedia theatre, a state-of-the-art gym, a community lounge, bar, and so much more. Outside the clubhouse will be pickle ball and bocce courts, outdoor grilling stations, walking trails, a community garden and a dog park. (Full list of amenities listed below).

The Arbella is also conveniently located within a five-mile radius of the Massachusetts Turnpike, interstates I-290 and I-190, and Worcester's commuter rail station, Union Station.

"This is the type of place that I would want my parents to be because maintaining your dignity at that age is so important,” Caitlin Lubelczyk with the Worcester Chamber of Commerce said. “And being in a safe place in your city, especially for lifelong Worcester residents, is what it’s all about.”

The Arbella at Bramble Hill is projected to be completed by the Spring of 2025 and will be developed with the help of Marchionda & Associates, Syvertsen Rigosu Architects, and Campanelli Construction.
