Virtusa Expands Into Troy

Virtusa Opens New Technology Center in RPI Technology Park at 400 Jordan Road

TROY, NY– Virtusa Corporation (NASDAQ:VRTU), a global business consulting and IT services company that combines innovation, technology leadership and industry solutions to transform the customer experience, recently announced the opening of its new Technology Center in the Rensselaer Technology Park. Located at 400 Jordan Road in Troy, Virtusa is neighbor to and tenant of the United Group of Companies Inc., a real estate development and management group. Laurie Tylenda and Gordon Furlani of CBRE-Albany represented the landlord, 400 Jordan Road, LLC, and NAI Platform, in conjunction with Richards Barry Joyce & Partners, who represented the tenant in the transaction.

Virtusa’s new ~10,000 square-foot technology center, the company’s most recent major investment, is strategically located within the Rensselaer Technology Park and easily accessible to Virtusa clients across the northeast. The Tech Park was selected because of its close proximity to RPI, SUNY, Union College and other local educational institutions. This is the third Virtusa office to open in New York State and the first in the Capital District area.

Virtusa currently has more than 6,900 employees in offices and technology centers throughout the United States, Europe and Asia, with a reported $333.2 million in revenue as of March 2013. As recently announced by the Governor’s office, the company’s expansion to the Tech Park location is estimated to create 200 new jobs in the Capital Region.

“We are extremely excited about our new technology center in the Rensselaer Tech Park,” said Harsha Kumar, Senior Vice President and executive sponsor of the Technology Center at Virtusa. “United Group worked hand-in-hand with us to meet our specific needs and expedite the move-in process; they even made temporary space available to us prior to our move-in date. Now that our new office is up and running, we hope to leverage the Tech Park’s connection to RPI in our search for local technology talent.”

400 Jordan Road is a three-story Class “A” office building located in the Rensselaer Technology Park in Troy, NY. CBRE-Albany is currently marketing the remainder of the building. The building has ~28,000 SF of office space remaining for lease that is being exclusively represented by Tylenda and Furlani. More details on this exciting opportunity can be found at
