Congratulations, Nancy!

 Questions:

1.) What about United Group keeps you coming back year after year?

What keeps me coming back to The United Group of Companies, Inc. is the ability to learn and grow with the work I do. And the wonderful, skilled coworkers I get to spend time with every day.

2.) What memories have you cherished the most out of your 15 years with United Group?

Over the years I have experienced many memorable moments, both good and challenging. I have had amazing opportunities to work with some outstanding individuals. So many events and interactions. Corporate family picnics, helping with Senior Housing barbecues, holiday parties, grand openings events, manager retreats, and site audits. During site audits, I was able to see the operations side of the business and all the hard work that goes into running a property. We can’t forget the memorable UGOC 50th anniversary celebration, where my eldest daughter Victoria surprised me by traveling in from Colorado.

3.) In what ways have you seen the company grow and evolve?

I have seen the company grow and evolve with numerous new business opportunities like the construction of the College Suites student housing portfolio, senior and multifamily business, as well as expanding our management company and third-party relations.

4.) What advice would you give your first day of work self after working for United Group for the past 15 years?

The advice I would give to my first day of work self is focus on self-improvement and learn from everyone. You either win or learn. Don’t be afraid to grow and find solutions. You can learn from both your own mistakes and others'. Keep yourself up to date with professional and work industry publications. This is an exciting age of technology (improved software programs) and artificial intelligence (AI).

5.) What advice do you have for newer UGOC employees?

Your position with our organization is a self-portrait so autograph your work. No matter how insignificant you may find a task, when you execute it with excellence, everyone appreciates your efforts.
