Guilderland, NY – The United Group of Companies, Inc. (United Group) was joined by city officials, development partners, Chamber members and staff Wednesday to celebrate the official grand opening of The Apex at Crossgates, Guilderland’s award-winning multifamily housing community near Crossgates Mall. Representatives from United Group, city and state officials including New York State Senator Patricia Fahy, Deputy County Executive Michael McLaughlin, and Town of Guilderland board member Gustavo Santos, as well as business community representatives from the Guilderland and Capital Region Chambers of Commerce were all in attendance for the day’s festivities.

The event, which kicked off at 2 p.m. Wednesday, allowed county residents and community stakeholders to tour the expansive 222-unit community. The Apex at Crossgates features one-, two-, and three-bedroom housing options in the form of 192 garden apartments and 30 townhome units and is also surrounded by beautiful greenery and walking spaces paired with an expansive state of the art 9,000sf clubhouse featuring amenities such as a premium golf simulator, a fitness center, a game lounge with a pool table, card table, and gaming stations, a club room with a fireplace, television and kitchen, a yoga studio and a plethora of outdoor amenities including a dog park, pickle ball courts, and a swimming pool area that includes a pool house, hot tub, and outdoor grilling stations.
“This is a fantastic example of the type of development and housing we need to lean into. A new paradigm, if you will, of construction,” Deputy County Executive Michael McLaughlin said. “So, this is the type of development we want to see more of. And I am happy, as a county representative, for this type of development to happen anywhere in our county and certainly hope this can continue in other areas of our county as well.”

The groundbreaking ceremony was highlighted by speeches from The Apex at Crossgates’ owner, Michael J. Uccellini, New York State Senator Patricia Fahy, Deputy County Executive Michael McLaughlin, and United Group’s Chief Development Officer Jeff Smetana.
