Troy Record: "On a picturesque, brisk, snow-covered night on Wednesday evening, over 100 Troy residents gathered in Monument Square to watch the city’s annual Christmas tree lighting to kick off the holidays.
Dressed in Victorian garb was Chamber of Commerce President Norris Pearson, who delivered an address to begin the evening. Attendees were also treated to free hot cocoa to keep warm during the winter night, which was distributed by United Group.
“Troy is such an amazing place to live, work and play, and looking out at all of you this evening, that really comes to life,” Joan Cavanaugh, chief human resource officer for United Group, said. “Tonight, as we gather under the lights of Troy’s Christmas tree, we celebrate the warmth, creativity and resilience that makes this city so special. Troy has a very special place in our hearts at United Group. It is a city we’ve been proud to work in, grow and build in for many years.”
