Today, we have the privilege of celebrating Bekah Hebert, our esteemed Compensation + Benefits Manager, as she reaches her impressive milestone of five years with UGOC!

Bekah has been an invaluable asset to our organization since she first stepped through our doors. Her unwavering dedication, exceptional professionalism, and innate ability to navigate complex situations have made her an indispensable pillar within our Human Resources department. Over the past five years, Bekah has consistently demonstrated her commitment to helping her co-workers and ensuring everything runs smoothly, no matter how many last-minute open enrollment emails come her way!

As we celebrate Bekah’s 5-year anniversary, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for her contributions to our organization. Her unwavering calmness, dependability, and patience have undoubtedly made a positive impact on our company culture and the well-being of our team. Thank you, Bekah, for all you do!

A look back at the past five years:

Take us back to day one! What was it like? What do you remember about your first day?

I remember that I started on a Friday – I dressed up in full business attire, and everyone else was dressed for “casual Fridays”! I was introduced around the Corporate Office and then spent the rest of the day with the HR team learning about UGOC.

How has your role changed over the years? (If at all possible)

I was hired as the HR Generalist and was in charge of Safety/Worker’s Comp, billing, employee relations, and administrative tasks for the department. In early 2020 I was promoted into the Compensation + Benefits Manager role and handle payroll, benefits, wellness, ADP-administration, audits/reporting, and more. Over the years I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to either work in or assist with almost all aspects of our HR Department!

Take us through a typical day!

I don’t necessarily have a “typical” day because there are lots of different things that come up to work on, but there is definitely a lot of routine in my role. Mondays and Tuesdays are dedicated to payroll processing, Wednesdays are payroll reporting and meetings, Thursdays are my most open day when I can work on projects and other open items, and then Fridays are prepping for the next week’s payroll and more meetings. And in between payroll processing duties I am working on benefits enrollments, reporting, audits, wellness initiatives, ADP issues, and more!

Do you have a favorite memory from your time at UGOC?

I loved being part of planning and putting on our very first Milestone Anniversary Celebration several years ago. It was so fun to celebrate our employees’ milestones and show them that we appreciate their hard work and dedication to UGOC.

I also always enjoy when I get to visit our Sites and meet those teams in person. You all are the reason that we do what we do, and I appreciate every opportunity I get to see our beautiful communities and their hard work in action! 😊

What advice would you give yourself reflecting on the last 5 years?

Work hard, don’t be afraid to ask for help, and always look for ways to learn and grow!

others.
