UGOC Spotlight: Chris Wiltey Celebrates 10 Years

UGOC Spotlight: Chris Wiltey Celebrates 10 Years

United Group is thrilled to celebrate Chris Wiltey, Regional Manager at UGOC, as he reaches an impressive milestone of ten years with the company!

Chris began his United Group journey in 2013, serving as Property Manager at Schaffer Heights in Schenectady, New York. He quickly established himself as one of our organization’s most adept managers which earned him a promotion to Area Operations Manager in 2019.

As of 2021, Chris has served as Regional Manager at United Group overseeing senior and multifamily assets.

The company could not be more grateful to Chris for all he’s done throughout his career to help catapult growth for United Group and we look forward to celebrating many more milestones and successes with Chris in the future.

To learn more about Chris and his journey read the Q&A below.

Congratulations, Chris!

1.) Take us back to day one! What was it like? What do you remember about your first day?

My first day I remember being excited to take on the new role. I was so happy and kept telling my friends and family I found a career and was loving what I was doing. I was (am) always ready to take on a new task and learn, which is why I say “Let's Roll” a lot.

2.) Walk us through a typical workday.

My typical workday is coming in and saying "Goooood Morninggg" to everyone. From there, ya never know what to expect which makes the day exciting. I typically begin my day by going through emails and making a checklist. I love crossing items off, it’s a relief. Once my checklist is made, I call each PM to connect on the day and to see what they need from me. After that, the usual client meetings, reports, and working through the Entrata Dashboard. In between all that I usually get up to stretch my legs and ask how everyone’s day is going which usually results in the marketing department making fun of me…. But they always have food, so it keeps me happy

3.) What about United Group keeps you coming back year after year?

The growth and knowledge I gain daily. Literally daily. Every day I learn something new, and I become a stronger manager. I enjoy seeing the potential in myself and I see myself as a staple at United Group. I just got an awesome electric bike for my 10-year gift. I’m excited to see what I’ll get in year 20. But most importantly, everyone at United Group. I’ve made very close friends that I consider family at this point. I’m looking forward to many more years of success all together.

3.)What is your favorite memory (so far) from your time at UGOC?

Being the Big Kahuna at the Managers Retreat. I danced up a storm.

5.) What advice would you give yourself reflecting back on the last 10 years?

Continue learning from my mistakes and keep asking for help. There is a major support team at United. Ask a ton of questions and keep on grinding. And any time I feel like I’m in a rut, it always passes. Great days outnumber the bad.
