UGOC Spotlight: Patty Hamilton Celebrates 5 Years

Join us in celebrating Patty Hamilton, Leasing Specialist at The Alloro at University Groves, for reaching her five-year milestone with United Group! Patty joined the team in 2018 as a Resident Services Director at Campo Felice in Fort Myers, Florida. She then transferred to a Leasing Specialist role at The Alloro at University Groves in Sarasota, Florida and has been a key component in coordinating client transitions for the property.

Patty is described by her managers as someone who is driven, unstoppable, and a woman who keeps to her word. As one of the company's talented leasing professionals, she has played a huge role in the success of The Alloro at University Groves.

On behalf of all of us, we thank Patty for her years of dedication and we are delighted to celebrate her!

Questions:

1.) Take us back to day one! What was it like? What do you remember about your first day?

My first day at UGOC was at Campo Felice in Fort Myers. It was a 25-story building on the Caloosahatchee River. I was hired by Tara O'Sullivan as the Resident Services Director. There were about 300+ residents with a full-service program. Tara used to call me her air traffic controller! I stayed there for almost 3 years [before] I then was offered a sales position in Sarasota at a property that, at the moment, was cinder blocks and dirt.

2.) Walk us through a typical workday!

A typical workday now is never typical. As a salesperson, you can plan all you like but you never know who is going to walk through the door or what phone call is going to keep you on the phone longer than you thought. Our community, because we are at the 50% mark, has a lot of activities and events to bring in new prospects so it feels like there is always a party to plan!

3.)What is your favorite memory (so far) from your time at UGOC?

My favorite memory so far has been the night that we honored our Sunblazers at a gala event. It gave me the opportunity to thank them and let others know how dedicated they were and trusting of what I had promised them. Some waited 6 months or more to move in after they committed to the property.

4.) What advice would you give yourself reflecting on the last 5 years?

The best advice I could give myself is to not stress so much about the small stuff!

5.)How has your role changed over the years? (If at all possible)

My role at Campo was a Resident Services Director, and now, I am the Sales Consultant. Although very different roles, many of the things I do daily mirror what I did at Campo. It is all about building trust and doing what is right for the resident or the prospect.
