UGOC Spotlight: Patricia Sibilia Celebrates 5 Years

United Group is thrilled to recognize Patricia Sibilia, Development Specialist, for reaching her 5-year milestone!

Patricia began her journey with United Group in 2019 as an Administrative Assistant and has since proven to be an invaluable asset to our organization. At United Group, Patricia wears many hats and always does so with a smile! Her positive and go-getter attitude is admired among our company, and we could not be happier to celebrate her.

To learn more about Patricia's journey within United Group, read her Q&A below.

Congratulations, Patricia!

Questions:

1.) Take us back to day one! What was it like? What do you remember about your first day?

Day one was all about training. I spent nearly the whole day in the training room taking courses, feeling a little excited and anxious to really get started. And I remember feeling like the new colleagues I met were warm and welcoming, exactly the environment I was hoping for!

2.) Walk us through a typical workday!

The best part of my job is that every day is different. Some days I’m in meetings a lot. Some days I’m going through emails a lot to catch up and push along open items. Some days I’m heads-down for hours in details and/or research. Some days I have time to get my steps in & get work done by walking around the building and stopping at many different people’s desks. And some days I’m just trying to knock off items on my to-do list that have been sitting for way too long.

3.) What is your favorite memory (so far) from your time at UGOC?

I have so many favorite memories it’s hard to pick! Honestly, my favorite memories revolve around the great people I work with and the many different events that UGOC hosts from the 50th anniversary party to the scavenger hunt in the corporate office and the Wellness Fair events.

4.) What advice would you give yourself reflecting on the last 5 years?

Instead of just getting annoyed over something that happened, have a conversation to better understand intentions. Much of conflict comes from wrong perceptions.

5.) How has your role changed over the years? (If at all possible)

My role has changed a lot over the years, gaining more depth and breadth with each year as I took on more responsibilities and learned a lot more about the company and industry. I started off doing mainly administrative tasks, but now I utilize more of the skills and experience I have from my prior career.
